Village Green Markets

The Paihia Village Green is the temporary home to one of the top authentic Northland Art & Craft Markets. The market sets up on days when cruise ships carrying 500 or more passengers are in the Bay between September and May each year. Enjoy the outdoor shopping experience on the green, with plenty of areas for sitting or picnicking in the shade, an artistic display of Paihia’s history under the covered walkway, and the neighbouring Williams House Library and grounds.

With up to 30 stalls, the Art & Craft Market offers shoppers the opportunity to meet artists and crafters in person and take away something unique and special.

What can you find at the market? Wood craft and turned products, knitting, ceramics, hand dyed socks, hand made soaps and herbal remedies, glass work and hand crafted jewellery, and high-calibre art in varying mediums and more! The wide variety of products from Northland comprise the visual delight of the market. Some stallholders are full time with their craft; some are hobbyists. What they all have in common is a love of the marketplace, pride in their work, and a friendly welcome for our visitors.
