The first project proposed in Waitangi is to build 3 ’round the tree seats’ along the Ti Bay beach front, similar to those on Marsden Rd. Three trees have been identified:
one nearest the playground on the bluff side (this requires an existing seat to be removed, the plaque currently on the old seat will be relocated to the new tree seat),
one almost opposite #162 Marsden Rd, just up from Lucy Williams Park.
the last opposite the houses on Te Karuwha Parade, the tree nearest the rubbish bin.
A letter will shortly be distributed to Waitangi waterfront residents and businesses detailing the proposed plans. We hope to begin construction soon after this. We will email the callout for volunteers when a date for construction is set.
