PROJECT DRIVERS HENK KUIPER & BRIAN RAPHAEL
Now that the team has the support and final sign off from the BAY OF ISLANDS – WHANGAROA COMMUNITY BOARD for the proposal to beautify the Village Green edge (adjoining the commercial area) the VILLAGE GREEN PHANTOM group is planning the first jobs.
The first was on Monday 19 October 9am-12pm, there was a working bee, to do some minor maintenance work, along the roadside edge. Then on Saturday 28 November a larger working bee for the area next to the shops is planned. Save the date! More details will follow via email for this, nearer the time.
Carpentry and bricklaying skills will be needed! The plan for the day is to start with the timber seating next to the entrance near the post office and the brick seating around the electricity box near the road. For this 3 people will be needed who are familiar with carpeting and 3 people needed who have bricklaying skills.
