Christmas comes to the Op Shop

November proved to be another strong month for the Op Shop. It was great to see so many of our volunteers come out to the Focus Paihia Community update. We are all strongly invested in our involvement with the shop, and wish Tricia Scott and her team on the Focus Paihia Board success going forward. As always, they have our total support.

A significant change for the shop in how we are handling furniture pickups. Terry Smith and his team have put their hands up to be our furniture lifters and to this we have made the decision to do our furniture pickups on Saturday mornings only. We would ask that if you have furniture to donate to the shop, please call us and book a pickup time on a Saturday. Our times will be 9am, 10am, 11am, 12 Noon and 1pm. If you would be able to text us a photo of the items you would like collected, this is a huge help as it determines how many strong fellas we will need, and what type of vehicle will be required. Obviously very happy to take furniture at other times if you are able to deliver to us.

Focus Paihia Op Shop is again putting a float into the Christmas Parade on Friday 5 December - grab some buddies and come along and support all the floats - it is always a super event and a great way to spend a Friday evening to celebrate the coming of Christmas.

Sandy is keeping the shop well stocked with items ideal for Christmas gifts. Make your first stop the Op Shop to see what little treasures you can pick up. We have some beautifully beaded Christmas Decorations, and jewellery items just received into the shop this week - a beautiful selection of items made by Jean who is extremely artistic and creative. These are in prominently displayed on the counter - they are selling quickly, so please don't miss out on some really beautiful gift ideas.

We have some fabulous new volunteers in the shop - next time you are in check if any new faces are working the shop and say hi to them. We have in recent months welcomed Leslie, Donella, Kris, Jane, Julia, Gwen and Alana. Our team gets stronger all the time, and we really value our volunteers and the amazing job they do.
