Well it’s great to be able to say – after some delays and frustrations but also amazing great efforts and commitments from some wonderful people in the community, just in time for summer – we finally have new water fountains in Paihia!
Water fountains can be found in the following locations:
Lucy Williams Park
Te Ti Beach Playground
Near Bay Beach Hire
Just below the toilet block at Te Haumi flats
The existing one near the I-Site
Bruce Gordon has been the ‘main man’ digging and concreting for the projects assisted by Aaron Peacock, Owen at Total Plumbing, Dan at Bay Beach Hire (where we were able to extend the project to make a better draining shower and concrete path), Jane Banfield for initially pushing the project along, Grant Harnish for his endless dealings with Council, others who volunteered when we had to change dates at the last minute.
